Courses: Basic Fire Fighter Skills


Course Details:
Learn about and experience personal protective equipment (PPE) and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). Explore the selection, care, maintenance and limits of protection offered. Discover personal safety requirements involved with riding on apparatus, explore methods of communication, and understand the importance of personnel accountability on the emergency scene. Familiarize yourself with fire attack lines, nozzles appliances, and water supplies with an emphasis on the operation of fire hydrants. Course Goal(s): The goal of this course is to enable learners to develop the skills to meet the introductory job performance requirements (JPRs) of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1001 Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications (2013 edition).
