Courses: Sex Offender Case Planning


Course Details:
In this course, participants learn to develop effective case plans tailored to their sex offender caseload. The course is delivered by online moderator Chris Thomson, MEd, and features web conferencing with other experts in the field. The course focusses specifically on the unique risk and needs of sexual offenders as they relate to the results of the STATIC-99R, STABLE-2007 and ACUTE-2007 risk/needs assessment tools. Training promotes critical and analytical thinking processes which assist participants to:Identify the offender's primary risk and skill deficits that relate to the risk of re-offending; Prioritize risk targets; Select case supervision objectives; and Target intervention strategies to achieve positive outcomes. This is a 21-hour online course, designed to be completed part-time over five weeks. All materials and resources are provided electronically. Evaluative components for this training include course participation, assignments, a final assessment and a final exam. (Formerly SOAP108)
